Tron

Tron

“The Tron era is approaching. Get ready”. This was the warning given in the film’s publicity telling of what was to come: the dangers of the computer world. Working with Moebius on the movie’s artistic design, Tron was a milestone at the time it came out with its spectacular and never-before-seen special effects, its pioneering immersion in yet-to-be-christened virtual reality and its warning about the problems awaiting us in cyberspace which wasn’t called that at the time either. The story of a computer programmer (played by Jeff Bridges), trapped in the jaws of a computer from this period, has become a cult film over time despite the fact that it was not as successful as expected when it was released.
