Spain, 2011
By this point in October, it will already have stunned half of Sitges. The other half will have gone to Galicia to hunt for werewolves. But before getting there, they will stop off at our Festival so that we can see this slice of celluloid that begins with some cartoons worthy of bandit comic strips and then fills up with creatures that are flesh and blood and remarkably hairy directed by Juan Martínez Moreno in an extraordinary and catatonic state of grace and played not only by the unbeatable Gorka Otxoa, Carlos Areces and Secun de la Rosa in three hilarious and unhinged roles but also by Manuel Manquiña, Luis Zahera as a (sharp) agent from Benemérita and a buzzard that looks a lot like Pancho the dog from the lottery adverts but is actually Vito superstar. What on earth is it all about? Werewolves, sheep and marchionesses.
