The All Blacks had just beaten Argentina in the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup when this film, by their compatriot Paul Campion, was selected for the Horror Festival. Paul is a special effects man whose first work (on a short film) as director was merely given the trifling title of Night of the Hell Hamsters. For this feature length work he decided to rely on the Nazis (where would Horror in the 3rd Millennium be without them?) and mix them in with a pair of risky Kiwi commandos who have to parachute into a bunker on one of the Channel Islands to distract the Jerry's whilst D-Day was getting underway. What the New Zealanders don't know is that Adolf's soldiers have been playing with black magic and dark forces on the occupied island... Filmed on a very tight budget, featuring a handful of eviscerated German baddies and a topless demon, Paul sets up a cracking film.
