In Soft Like Me, Jeffrey Erbach's short film presented in the VIII Horror and Fantasy Film Festival of San Sebastián, a clan of sadistic farmers enslaved -and on occasion devoured- a group of innocent boys. The survival of innocence in a demeaning atmosphere is once again the filmmaker's focal point: in an underground world thatched with tree roots, two imposing butchers mechanically carry out their jobs and periodically let their homosexual attraction out of the bag to two girls who might not be as fragile and angelical as they seem. A post-Lynch outburst that will gnaw away at even the most steely of nerves.
