| In
February of this year of our Lord 2003, Anatomie 2 competed
in Berlin cinemas on the selfsame programme of the Berlinale, the great
international film fiesta. And it competed on an equal footing. The story
is about polymers. Yes, polymers. It was published in TIME Magazine: “A
team of researchers from the Bioinstrumentation Laboratory of the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology has succeeded in developing artificial nerves
and muscles with electricity conducting polymers”. Taking the
subject a little further, imagining a doctor who controls his “manipulated”
patients with a remote control is but a step ahead. Precisely the step
taken by the director and screenwriter of this production. From there
to conceiving a horde of (re)implanted boys and girls who dream of Superman,
but another one. From there to a great movie, a millimetre. |
