This year, in coproduction with Flash-Back Ediciones, the Film Festival will present an exhibition dedicated to Carlos Giménez (Madrid, 1941), one of the greatest authors in the world of fantasy comics. Holder of an incredible imagination, fantasy and humour, with essential works including Hom, Dani Futuro, the series Paracuellos or Érase una vez en el futuro, excellent narrator, brilliant comic strip artist -passionate yet critical-, society chronicler, the Festival will also organize a complete monographic exhibition on his work.

“We didn’t have Treasure Island, but we did have the comics El Cachorro, El Guerrero del Antifaz. For a child who liked drawing it was moreover his drawing board and project for the future. If there had been paint at my school, I may have been an artist, or a sculptor, but there were only comics. I said: ‘I want to be a comic strip artist when I grow up’, and that’s exactly what I’ve done”.
