Les
oiseaux de lux is an invasion of giant monochromatic birds and their
alien riders. They were hired for the first time in 1994 by Festimagique
to perform in shopping centres and markets in the north of France. The
birds parade through the streets, appear in strangest of places, surprise
passers-by, wander through the city centres. They live marked by their
colour, are coquettish, and need to be continuously embraced and taken
care of. Watch your food if it’s lunchtime.
Neighbourhood Watch Stilts International took shape in 1993 to create
a specific mise en scène in a park in Newcastle, their city of
birth. Since then they have produced a variety of shows which have taken
them all over the world. They specialize in creating urban hallucinations,
in the interaction between magic and reality, in visual theatre. |
