| Legendary
movie directed by Riccardo Freda, maker of titles including Caltiki,
the Undying Monster or The Vampires.
Doctor Hichcock only gets pleasure from sex with dead women. He’s
not particularly interested in live ones. But his wife is alive. Every
night, he gives her a drug that puts her to sleep, hence permitting him
to have his wicked way with her. But one day, overly heavy-handed, he
manages to kill her. Twelve years later he remarries, this time with the
inimitable Barbara Steele, queen of European horror. Although several
years have gone by, the presence of the physician’s first wife is
constant. A real horror movie classic, gruesome and disturbing, a pioneer
title as far as dealing with the subject of necrophilia is concerned.
