Love Object
(2002). Robert Parigi. Estados Unidos. 84 minutos
The director wrote a script for Marilyn Manson, Hollywood, a production suspended by New Line as a result of the sequels of the Colombine massacre. The producer could have problems with the USA Tax Office given that he’ll have to justify the thousands of dollars he spent on blow-up dolls and on their glorious leather and chain outfits. While this is going on, let’s enjoy this film in which, as per custom, a poor timid man allows himself to be dominated by his pretty doll and, when it turns out that a flesh and blood version falls (more or less) for his (doubtful) charms, he seems to prefer latex to fresh flesh, with fairly devastating results for the ladies appearing on the screen. Irreverent, independent, never immoral but always amoral, Love Object is a love.
