Maciste all’inferno

Protagonist of tens of films, from the silent period to the apotheosis of the sixties, Maciste is one of the brawny heroes to have occupied most metres of celluloid. As early as 1914 he appeared in Giovanni Pastrone’s Cabiria, one of the most famous peplums in the history of film. On this occasion, Maciste appears in 17th century Scotland to try and save from death the descendant of a witch burned at the stake who made a curse still existing today. On seeing the youngster, the locals think the witch is back and decide to kill her. To right the wrong, Maciste has no other choice but to make his way down into hell and finish off the witch. Second movie in the series directed by Riccardo Freda and starring Kirk Morris, born Adriano Bellini.
