Rompe Candela
Palo Q’Sea
Rompe Candela is a street parade and show for performing in squares in which music, theatre and fireworks join forces to explain legends of Colombian mythology: the music comes from the Afro-Colombian folklore of the Atlantic and Pacific coasts; the theatre takes the shape of interaction with the audience, the creation of dolls based on Colombian legends, the technique of stilts, masks, colours, dances; the fireworks fill the events with light, colour and surprise. .

Rompe Candela represents the fight between good and bad. The characters are legends, symbols of Colombian culture and show the balance lived by the world. The music and devils use joy to fight against the black ambitions of those dark people on stilts. The dolls accompany the devils in their defence of good.

The Palo Q’Sea company was born in 1987 in Pereira, Colombia. Its members come from different backgrounds, lending it particular diversity and freshness. Palo Q’Sea also reflects the mixed races of the Colombian people. These characteristics give rise to a group with enormous character, open, happy and warm, the philosophy of which is to make known Colombian culture in order to demonstrate its spiritual, artistic and historic wealth.
