Sorgin bat etxean
(En häxa i familjen, 2000). Harald Hamrell. Suecia. 82 minutos
8-year-old Maria no longer wants to share a bedroom with her mischievous little brother Lillen, who is always playing nasty jokes on her. She can’t stand it any more. She makes a wish: for her brother to disappear. When she falls ill, her parents hire a new childminder, an old lady called Gerta. Maria suspects that she’s the witch who’s come for Lillen. But is she really? Harald Hamrell, reputed TV director in his home country, directs this movie based on the book Maria Bleknos, by the Swedish writer specialized in youth literature, Ulf Stark. Witch In Our Family won the Children’s Jury Prize at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck (Germany) in 2000 and the Audience Award at the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (Canada) in 2001.
