Collectible film heroes, 8th Comic Book Encounters (starring the veteran illustrator Vicente B. Ballestar and local authors Aranzta Sestayo and Rober Garay), bloody clay figures and strange photographs can be viewed in various exhibits which are carried out in the framework of the 22nd Horror and Fantast Film Festival which will take place from the 29th of October to the 4th of November.
Zinema heroiak (Fantasy Collectibles) will be exhibited in the Activities Hall of the Municipal Library. An exhibit of collectible pieces of mythical sagas and characters from the history of fantasy cinema: Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman... The pieces belong to collectors Miguel Ángel Cruz and Jorge Jiménez (Kimera & Foley. Merchandising Stores).
The multifaceted Finnish painter Malakias, member of the jury in last year's Festival, will present a sample (Torn and Bleeding Clay) of his most frightening and sinister creations at the C. C. Okendo: dolls, models, short films..., which bring together myths from his country and the film genre.
Land of the Free will be exhibited at the FNAC, a curious collection of photographs by Steve Schofield from Briton, he photographed science fiction film fans characterized portraying their favourite characters while doing everyday tasks in their own homes.
Lastly, the 8th Comic-book Encounters will be held during the Festival. During which the veteran illustrator Vicente B. Ballestar (Barcelona, 1929) will present Pulp Visions (C. C. Okendo). Master of the watercolour, this collection includes some of the covers he created for novels and various publications generally linked to genres like horror, science fiction or the western. This exhibit takes a tour through his powerful images, of impeccable finish and luminous aesthetics, created to present the books of John Sinclair, and legendary mastheads linked to horror and mystery.
Also within the 8th Comic Books Encounter, and as is customary, Euskadi Fantástico VII will present the work of two Basque authors. Arantza Sestayo (Central Library) and Rober Garay (Príncipe Cinemas) are the two chosen this year.
