France-Belgium-Luxembourg, 2010
French animation film with a 28 million dollar budget. Techniques used: motion capture and stereoscopic camera. The creator of the visual experience of the videogame Half Life 2, Victor Antonov, set off on the project, alongside the geniuses from Marvel Humberto Ramos and Francisco Herrera, in charge of designing the characters. Pure videogame graphics, with roughly hewn figures. Among the voices heard on the original version, we have Matthieu Kassovitz and Féodor Atkine. It really originates from the work by Lenteric entitled Les enfants rois. Highly stylised, with powerful New York backdrops and great depth of field, it tells of the duel to the death between the unbeatable evil one and a handful of young, gifted kids with ambivalent personality and ambiguity worthy of the superheroes that live in the darkest depths of the soul. The magnificent five hate Humanity but they are forced to create a better world for them.
