GOLDEN MÉLIÈS COMPETITION
Ireland, 2011
A night watchman spends hours in the abandoned building that he has to guard. Nothing seems to disturb his peace and quiet, until he suddenly hears a sound and decides to check out where it came from. He goes down the building's never-ending, white corridors looking for the source of this small alteration in his micro-world. Maybe he should pay attention to the title. Ireland's Damian McCarthy, responsible for the surprising He Dies at the End (2008) (short-spoiler where he demonstrates his tendency to beat himself to the end of his works) and Hatch (2009), the short film featuring an egg that participated in the Festival last year and obtained a nomination for the Golden Méliès, is back here to show how easy it is to slot terror into his character's everyday lives.
