The great British gentleman of special effects and the make-up department of movies like Eden Lake (2008), Centurion (2010) and The Eagle (2011) crosses the line to become the screenwriter and director of this film premiered at the London FrightFest in 2012 that left half the audience with their guts and their souls pretty much the size of a pea. Taking place in the Balkans, land of terror and fear if ever there was one, and at the heart of the darkness of that ungodly war of last century, the film narrates with a gloomy camera, a soundtrack that puts the snatches on and colours that have you thinking the camera has been dropped into a sink full of bleach, the tale of a deaf-mute servant girl in a brothel for soldiers who keep sex slaves in a sorrowful physical and mental state by shooting heroin into them. This is not a comfortable film to watch; its movements are sinuous, its travellings evil and its vengeance, interesting. Keep your eye out for the leading lady... London in its entirety bowed to the debutante Rosie Day and on the net they predicted a brilliant future for her.
