Perhaps the movie that prompted the world to turn its eyes upon the figure of Takashi Miike, the unclassifiable and prolific Japanese filmmaker whose films have turned up faithfully at their rendez vous down through the history of the Festival: Fudoh: The New Generation (1996), Ichi the Killer (2001), One Missed Call (2003), Ace Attorney (2012)… Seven years after his wife’s death, a company director decides the time has come to look for a new spouse. Taking the advice of his friend, a film director and producer, he holds auditions for an actress in the hope of finding the characteristics he’d like his potential future companion to have.
