Rémy Belvaux, André Bonzel and Benoît Poelvoorde were ahead by a few years of the fashion of making fakes, of genre-crossing, of documentaries that look like fiction and vice-versa. In 1992 they directed this documentary tracing the actions of a witty eccentric serial killer, played by Poelvoorde, who kills to rob his victims. Film crew Belvaux and Bonzel follow his every move for days to understand how he “works”, his methods, how he chooses his targets... They meet his family and friends and above all record the brutal crimes he commits without the slightest scruple. A nineties bloody classic that left no-one indifferent in its day.
