Two Indonesian directors (The Mo Brothers) and two murderers connected online. Connected and in a competition that takes no bets. One of them is the true Japanese reincarnation of our venerated American Psycho. The other, a cameraman and journalist whose life, job and hopes are in tatters. The movie, premiered at night to howling in Sundance, takes place between Jakarta and Tokyo, and it doesn’t turn up its nose at a bit of violence –it’s no chance that one of the characters is played by someone who survived the shooting of Kill Bill (2003)–; stylistically speaking it’s a gem, fabulously edited, with a tight screenplay, and don't worry that you may have become irremediably sadist if you laugh a bit when the poor prostitute wants to escape from the “you can rot for all I care” of the fancy car and the cops don’t even realise it.
