Six years after Evil Dead (1981), by then a cult movie, Sam Raimi helmed its sequel. Ash (Bruce Campbell, obviously), a good man, sets out for a peaceful, romantic weekend in the woods with his girlfriend. But things don’t go quite as planned when he plays a tape of a professor reciting passages from the Necronomicon, or “book of the dead” and Linda (the girl) turns into a monster. More demons, more fun, blood and action in one of the key titles of contemporary horror flicks.
