Like Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom (2012) but in Flemish, much more brutal and with much more gore because the camping boy scouts are the perfect prey for a malignant creature that knows the woods better than anyone and loves setting traps for the appetising little boys and teenagers. As usual, only the odd one out, the freak, the weird guy of the bunch realises what's going on, and has an idea of things to come. But as is always the case, no-one listens to him... except the mad folk who applauded this Belgian movie until dislocating their hands when it premiered in Toronto during an unforgettable Midnight Madness that sent websites as impossible as Bloody Disgusting away concluding that Cub is "kinetic and brutal". Check out the soundtrack and the torchlight movements.
