The Youth Department of the Town Hall participates at the festival with the creation of the Youth Jury, composed by 150 members (between 18 and 30 years), that will give the Youth Jury Award to the Best Short Film of the 29th Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.

Third edition of the legendary War of Fanzines, where a variety of publications bring out special issues dedicated to the 29th San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival and compete for the favour of the audience from October 27 to November 2. In collaboration with Destok publishing corner at Ubik, Tabakalera Creation Library and FNAC.

Saturday 27 October, the Teatro Principal will inaugurate the 29th Horror and Fantasy Film Festival of San Sebastian with a viewing of Overlord (2018), J. J. Abrams' latest production, directed by Julius Avery.

Season tickets for the 27th Horror & Fantasy Film Festival, running at the Principal Theatre from October 27 to November 2, will go on sale on Friday October 19, between 16:00 and 20:00 at the Principal Theatre ticket desk at a cost of 77 €.

The normal collaboration between the Festival and Sitges – Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya is growing larger this year with with the Catalonian contest hosting the exhibition Mil gritos en la noche. Actrius i actors del cinema de terror estatal dels 70, curated by the San Sebastian native photographer Pedro Usabiaga and produced by the Horror Festival last year (exhibited at C. C. Okendo). It can be viewed this year in Sitges from 4 through 14 October at the Centre Cultural Miramar.

The Horror Festival 2018 dedicates an exhibition to the work of the Catalan artist Sandra Arteaga (Terrassa, Barcelona, 1980), whose creatures will visit the Activities Room of San Sebastian Municipal Library between October 27th and November 11th.

Superheroiak is an approach to the American superhero comics via the work of David Aja, a prolific author who has developed his career at Marvel Comics through numerous covers and comic strips of characters as popular as Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Wolverine, Daredevil or The Avengers.

In 2018 it will be 200 years since the publication of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's novel Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus, planned a couple of years earlier during the famous soirée at Villa Diodati which has been recreated several times in film and literature. The Festival wants to pay tribute to this horror myth with the poster and with a retrospective season.
