The submissions period for the Youth Jury of the festival is open

The Youth Department of the Town Hall participates at the festival with the creation of the Youth Jury, composed by 150 members (between 18 and 30 years), that will give the Youth Jury Award to the Best Short Film of the 29th Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.

The normal collaboration between the Festival and Sitges – Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya is growing larger this year with with the Catalonian contest hosting the exhibition Mil gritos en la noche. Actrius i actors del cinema de terror estatal dels 70, curated by the San Sebastian native photographer Pedro Usabiaga and produced by the Horror Festival last year (exhibited at C. C. Okendo). It can be viewed this year in Sitges from 4 through 14 October at the Centre Cultural Miramar.

"The Legacy of Mary Shelley" cycle at the Horror Festival

In 2018 it will be 200 years since the publication of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's novel Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus, planned a couple of years earlier during the famous soirée at Villa Diodati which has been recreated several times in film and literature. The Festival wants to pay tribute to this horror myth with the poster and with a retrospective season.
