This is straight out of a dystopian plot, and made its début at Cannes Critics' Week rather than at some dark, horror festival. Power. An Irish, Belgian and Danish co-production, its storyline starts out with a couple looking for the perfect home finds themselves trapped in a mysterious neighbourhood where all the houses look the same... We all love the mazes, right? Especially if there is also a sinister fable and managing its limited budget with nihilist and dazzling dexterity. The director made his début with Without Name (2016), whose spectral elegance was lauded by The Guardian. It stars Jesse Eisenberg who has worked with Woody, Kristen Stewart and who starred in Zombieland (2009), and Imogen Poots, who appeared in Black Christmas (2019).
