We all loved the Father's Day episode directed by Anthony Scott Burns in Holidays (2016), so everyone bought a virtual ticket to watch Come True at the Montreal Festival, held online this year. Beautiful and chilling in its visual design; almost always cerebral, enormously cerebral, but candidly emotional throughout many other sequences; spectral and electrifying, this film follows the sometimes hideous subject matter of our worst dreams and most beautiful nightmares. It is directed, in frankly "hollowed" spaces, by someone who has worked in the camera, production design, visual effects and sound departments. He has been an assistant director, screenwriter and composer. You can tell.
