Ok, right enough. Ben Wheatley made the mistake of thinking that he was the one chosen by the gods to update the Rebecca (1940) of Hitchcock and Daphne Du Maurier. But that was a while back. Plus, we crepuscular beings don't hold grudges. Especially if it turns out that Ben is also responsible for the fascinatingly vile Sightseers (2012). Especially if, as they say in the encyclopaedias, this lump of pandemic horror could have the tagline "as the world struggles to find a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and a forest ranger make their way into the woods and...". Especially if The Guardian critic lavished 4 out of 5 stars on it and proclaimed it to be a trippy horror movie with a touch of the 15th century Malleus maleficarum and a slight taste of psychotropic mushrooms about it.
