Oihua! was born in 2019, organized by Donostia Kultura, Servicio Municipal de Euskara and San Sebastian-Gipuzkoa Film Commission. In the first edition the award was given to the short film project Zerua hautsi zen gaua, directed by María Fontán. In this second edition, the director Maider Oleaga will be the supervisor of the awarded project.

The 32nd San Sebastián Horror and Fantasy Film Festival and the Corner4art Gallery in Sitges (Barcelona) present an exhibition dedicated to Barcelona illustrator, Manuel Sanjulián (1941). About a hundred of Sanjulián's works will be on display at this exhibition, which opens on 27 September at the Okendo Cultural Centre and will run until 13 November.

The Youth Department of the Town Hall participates at the festival with the creation of the Youth Jury, composed by 60 members (between 18 and 30 years), that will give the Youth Jury Award to the Best Short Film at the 32nd Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.

Álex de la Iglesia's latest movie, Veneciafrenia (2021), will make its debut on 29 October at the 32nd San Sebastián Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, which will run from 29 October to 5 November at the Principal and Victoria Eugenia theatres as well as other venues across the city.

Actor Carlos Areces features this year on the official poster for the 32nd San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, to run from October 29-November 5. The poster pays tribute to the legendary medium-length movie La cabina written by José Luis Garci and directed by the filmmaker from Lasarte, Antonio Mercero, in 1972.
