Unifrance, the organisation responsible for promoting French cinema outside the mainland, gives this brief but striking summary of the film (with a little spice added in translation): “All of a sudden someone (or more than one) wants to do away with Vincent. He pretends to begin with that it has nothing to do with him, but as things get out of hand, decides to change his life completely". It doesn't sound at all bad, does it? And the thing is that this is the work of Stéphan Castang, one of those multifaceted filmmakers, a real one-man band: actor, screenwriter, dubbing actor, director of photography, editor… All it takes is a peek at the trailer to get a feel for the tone of this outstanding movie. Which was, by the way, featured in the Semaine de la Critique at Cannes.
