Eddie Alcazar. From New Mexico. Awarded a bursary, he studied FX and animation theory at the Academy of Art University in Frisco. Before long he was working in the video games department at Electronic Arts, and shortly afterwards founded his own company. In 2013 he directed a hugely powerful documentary about the boxer Johnny Tapia, produced by 50 Cent! Given these and other background details, it would be a crime to miss his Divinity, filmed in black-and-white very much in the style of 1950s science fiction, but with the shadows and darkness so typical of today's liquid, non-binary and miscible society. The theme? The quest for Immortality and Eternal Youth. Alchemists of the future, musclebound bodybuilders, infertile women and carnival conmen in this divine work of monochrome craziness.
