Luciano and Nicolas Onetti. Brothers. Argentinian. They have been featured at the Obscura festival, in Sitges and San Sebastian. VHS movies are in their DNA, as the makers of such heretical gems as What the Waters left Behind (2017) and Abrakadabra (2018). Interviewed when 1978 was still in pre-production, they said: “it's a horror film set during the dictatorship. There are a few things to do with the Football World Cup, and the plot takes place on a horrific evening/night, at a clandestine detention centre, the same day as the final between Argentina and Holland". It's a sick film. It smells bad. It tastes bad. It's scary, sickening and infuriating.
