Stéphane Levallois reflects on the fantastical iconography created by Goya, contributing his own vision of monstrosity. But between the monsters of the 19th century and those that Levallois develops for Hollywood films in the 21st century there is a gap of a hundred years. To bridge that distance and show the depth of the imprint left on later art by the Fuendetodos-born painter, the exhibition also features Mike Mignola, creator of the famous comic book figure Hellboy: a creature from the inferno with a distinctly Goyaesque spirit. Aside from allowing Stéphane Levallois to work with his creation, incorporating it into some of the most distinctive works by Goya, Mignola also contributes two Goyaesque illustrations to the exhibition.
Levallois casts light on the world of Goya through a total of 99 works and an audiovisual presentation, standing face-to-face with the black paintings of the Aragonese genius belonging to the Prado Museum, along with the Witches' Sabbaths featured in the oil paintings held at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum.

Well-known by his popular nickname of “Nachomon” thanks to his art dedicated to the world of Warhammer, and his webcomic Wolf & Sister. Born in Bilbao, he is an illustrator, writer, colourist and great visual narrator, with his own entirely distinctive style, very much aligned with manga and influences from the leading authors of the Bruguera era and Franco-Belgian comics.
This exhibition explores various of Nacho Fernández's wonderful creations, from engaging Dragon Fall originals to his more recent work, the riotous adventure and fantasy webcomic Wargasmer: Pistons & Dragons. It also offers the chance to enjoy tributes and caricatures of different film characters, mainly from the realm of fantasy, fanart based on classic comic strips, pages from Strip Marvel… while also travelling to such worlds as Resident Evil, Fanhunter, and the much-loved Supergrupo, first seen in the pages of Superlópez.
Given his long track-record as an author, his comic Dragon Fall (a parody of Dragon Ball), in which he showed masterful skill drawing and interpreting Akira Toriyama's characters, proved a very well-known and popular work, which is now being reissued. This was followed by his ventures into the world of Fanhunter, the miniseries Templarios (Dude Cómics) and Dark Breed, continued in Midnight Rockers (Dolmen Editorial).

Comic creation process
This exhibition will take you into the crazy story of La rebelión de Santa Clara, the latest comic by illustrator and scriptwriter Josean Olabe.
La rebelión de Santa Clara introduces us to the Real Compañía Guipuzcoana de Caracas, the company which held the cocoa trade monopoly for decades, earning itself more than a few enemies in the past. Here the artist brings the company into the modern world through a mysterious curse and act of revenge, set in a dystopian San Sebastian facing a monstrous threat: giant goose barnacles.
