The exhibition Euskadi Fantastikoa 20: Nacho Fernández: Comic strips and little monsters, from the program of the 35th Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, will be open between October 25th and November 16th at the Central Library (Alderdi Eder).
Well-known by his popular nickname of “Nachomon” thanks to his art dedicated to the world of Warhammer, and his webcomic Wolf & Sister. Born in Bilbao, he is an illustrator, writer, colourist and great visual narrator, with his own entirely distinctive style, very much aligned with manga and influences from the leading authors of the Bruguera era and Franco-Belgian comics.
This exhibition explores various of Nacho Fernández's wonderful creations, from engaging Dragon Fall originals to his more recent work, the riotous adventure and fantasy webcomic Wargasmer: Pistons & Dragons. It also offers the chance to enjoy tributes and caricatures of different film characters, mainly from the realm of fantasy, fanart based on classic comic strips, pages from Strip Marvel… while also travelling to such worlds as Resident Evil, Fanhunter, and the much-loved Supergrupo, first seen in the pages of Superlópez.
Given his long track-record as an author, his comic Dragon Fall (a parody of Dragon Ball), in which he showed masterful skill drawing and interpreting Akira Toriyama's characters, proved a very well-known and popular work, which is now being reissued. This was followed by his ventures into the world of Fanhunter, the miniseries Templarios (Dude Cómics) and Dark Breed, continued in Midnight Rockers (Dolmen Editorial).
