The film Oddity (Damian McCarthy, 2024) has won the Audience Award to the Best Feature Film at the 35th San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, that finishes tonight at Main Theatre with the screening of Una ballena (2024).

The Jury of the International Short Film Competition of the 35th San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, comprising Heidi Honeycutt, Asier Mensuro and Rocío Moreno, has decided to award the Jury Prize for Best Short Film to Wander to Wonder for creating its own universe, evoking with nostalgia and decadence a moment in the history of animation itself.

  • “Silver Méliès” Award to the Best European Fantastic Short Film

The jury decided to award the “Silver Méliès” for Best European Fantasy Short to Etorriko da (eta zure begiak izango ditu) for its original visual style and innovative vision of the pandemic, building a complex story with a wealth of layers, viewpoints and readings.

Bodegón con fantasmas (2024). Enrique Buleo. Spain-France-Serbia

The jury for the Blogos de Oro critics' award at the 35th San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, comprising Manuel Aguilar (CineDePatio), Amaia Egües (Atemporalia), Maitane Illarreta (RavenHeart), Pako Mulero (La Cabina de Nemo) and Santi Serrano (Revista Young España), gives his award to Bodegón con fantasmas for his story of ectoplasmic customs anchored in a childhood of slices of bread with Nocilla and ouija sessions. The film made up of five self-contained but connected stories shows us the different ways of being dead, including the most terrifying: being alive.
