A vast unidentified space plant has taken root on Earth and is wreaking havoc. Teams of young volunteers equipped with advanced technology, including the prickly and solitary Rita, strive to eradicate the invasive species. Rita wakes up one apparently normal morning and performs her regular chores, before the extraterrestrial being suddenly launches a torrent of monstrous assassins, and Rita dies. The very next instant, she wakes up on the same apparently normal morning… Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which previously inspired the US film Edge of Tomorrow (2014).
