Singer Samantha Hudson is transformed into a mutant sea creature as the star of the official poster for the 2026 Horror Film Festival (October 3 - November 6), an edition which will, in this image and beyond, be suffused with the leitmotif of the Body Horror subgenre.
The official poster for the Festival is meant as a nod to San Sebastian's Cimasub (International Undersea Film Festival), which will be marking its 50th anniversary between 12 and 14 November at the Teatro Principal, a week after the Horror Festival ends. The films scheduled for the latter will include a number of other references to Cimasub.
Singer, composer, producer, screenwriter and actress Samantha Hudson is one of the pre-eminent figures in contemporary counterculture, a status achieved thanks to her cutting-edge critical discourse and a musical career which plays with the paradigms of the genre, alongside the freedom of expression seen above all in her striking live performances. Hudson is one of today's huge pop phenomena and an idol for Generation Z, having emerged from the more underground queer scene to conquer more mainstream spheres courtesy of catchy melodies, outrageous lyrics and a critical perspective which challenges and transgresses the established order.
Having released albums including Liquidación total (2021), AOVE Black Label (2023) and Música para muñecas (2025), she has also conducted hugely successful tours and claimed a host of awards, such as the MTV EMA 2023 for Best Spanish Artist and the 2022 Rainbow Award from the Ministry of Equality for her work on behalf of the LGTBIQ+ community.
The photographic coordinator was Pedro Mambrú. The photo was taken by Javier Bermejo and Chus Feijóo. The make up was created by ND Studio FX while the special effects are the work of Alive VFX. Poster design is by Ytantos.
