The exhibition "Cabinet of Curiosities, Monsters and Machines" is open

The 37th Horror and Fantasy Film Festival presents the exhibition Cabinet of Curiosities, Monsters and Machines, dedicated to the Valencian animated film producer Conflictivos Productions, open to visitors at Okendo Kultur Etxea between 16 September and 4 November.

The show presents their work over the past 25 years, remaining true throughout to the stop motion technique, which they have used to produce such shorts as Encarna (2003), The Werepig (2008), Vicenta (2010), Paralelos (2022), La valla (2024) and El aspirante (2025), and also the feature film Pos eso (2014), all directed by Sam, the public face of the production company since the outset. Fantastical stories that have over the years evolved from the purest Spanish folklore tradition to darker, Kafkaesque dystopias, set in horrific, humorous and absurd worlds. Filling the screen with curiosities, monsters and machines. The Festival first dedicated an exhibition to their work in 2009.

Okendo Kultur Etxea will be showing the whole process behind their creations, from storyboards to plasticine figures, models, sets, props…

On 3 November there will be a screening at Okendo of the documentary Conflictivos productions, 25 años fracasando con todo éxito (2024), directed by Fran Sánchez.

Sam will be conducting a guided tour of the exhibition during the Horror Festival.
