Hideshi Hino: Exhibition
Hideshi Hino was born in Manchuria
in 1946, the day after the end of the Second World War. Cinematographically, he
has directed Flowers of Flesh and Blood / Chiniku no
hana (1985) and Mermaid in the Manhole / Manhoru no naka
no ningyo (1988), the ultra-gory cult series Guinea Pig, but we discover the full extent
of his talent in the world of comics, where he has produced mangas such as The Bug Boy, The Red Snake, Panorama of
        Hell, Living Corpse or Zoroku's
Disease (all published in our country by Ediciones La Cúpula).
He continues to work and is justly considered to be one of the most amazing terror
      manga authors.

Victoria Francés: Exhibition
Victoria Francés is something special. Her drawings are capable of transporting us to dreamlike worlds and magical landscapes, more than likely inherited from the fascination she felt for the woods in Galicia where she spent much of her childhood or from the astonishment she experienced when she visited places which inspired famous gothic art, which stands out in her first illustrated work, Favole, a souvenir from three cities Verona, Genoa and Venice.
Visitors to her monographic exhibition in San Sebastian during Comic Festival can bear witness to her delicate handiwork. In her drawings, we can appreciate her eye for detail, her precision in mixing techniques and artistic elements pursuing a specific effect and, despite the small scale of the paper (A4) there can be no doubt that this is a great work of art, full of sad yet beautiful paradises, populated with characters which could just as easily be angels as demons, aiming to capture on paper the fleeting instant of beauty beating inside the unknown.
	  Euskadi Fantastikoa III: Exhibition
Following the trend set in previous San Sebastian Comic-book Encounters, this third edition is centred on two artists with excessive, recognised prestige. Raquel Alzate and José Ángel Lopetegi. These two authors have managed to publish their work in magazines in the Basque Country, Spain and other European countries, although the vast majority of their work has been published in our region. As usual, we have tried to pick out two authors with very different styles. Alzate is realistic and academic whilst Lopetegi produces radical and dynamic caricatures, although both are both talented in terms of drawing and narration.
