American Gothic
This year the Festival brings issue number ten in its
collection, dedicated on this occasion to American Gothic. El cine de
terror USA 1968-1980. Coordinated by Antonio José Navarro,
this publication includes the collaboration of
several celebrated authors who analyse the emergence of new
American genre cinema following Night of the Living
      Dead.

2000 maniacos
Europe's oldest horror, sci-fi and erotic fanzine continues
to collaborate with the Festival by once again bringing out a
special issue during the event. Pages stuffed with monsters,
mutants and not-quite-normal beings. With exclusive interviews
(Lloyd Kaufman, Olaf Ittenbach), articles on cinema and comics and
      heaps of fun.

Interzona
Auspiced by the Festival comes Interzona, a publication
entirely dedicated to the comic world featuring some of the
biggest cartoon authors on today's national scene, accompanied
by different specialist firms in the matter. Here we present
issue zero, a spontaneous salmagundi shaping the future of a
      magazine destined to prosper.

 Verlián y el
	    talismán extraviado
The myth of Jack Mircala just keeps on growing. Verlián y el talismán
extraviado is the latest poisoned sweet from
this exceptional genius. Illustrated with the exquisite
posterboard models of which we had a taste at previous Festivals,
Mircala definitively consumes his dark love-affair with Horror.

During the Festival, FNAC will screen three movies directed by the playwright, filmmaker and shaman, Alejandro Jodorowsky: Fando y Lis (1968), El topo (1970) and La montaña sagrada (The Holy Mountain, 1973).

All people's have their fables and legends. Most of them are also packed with beings of fear-instilling aspect or behaviour. Although Tartalo is probably the one we know best, storyteller Izaskun Mujika will introduce us to a variety of terrifying mythological characters from other cultures like Russia's BabaYaga or Asia's Kishimo-Jin. Without putting the fear of death into the kids, these stories will lead us into the Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.

Following the great success of the two previous editions, the International Karaoke Competition returns with vigour to San Sebastian. For all of you who love songs, who want to exhibit your artistic and singing talent during the Week, for those of you who are tired of seeing films and whose only desire in life is to show off on stage. This is your chance.

Krell was born from the ashes of the gothic pop group Dunkelheit, winners of the Ciudad de San Sebastián Pop-rock Competition in 2004, with the idea of fusing electronic and gothic rock music in the best possible way. "Krell humanises electronics and dehumanises rock". The group takes its name from the cult movie The Forbidden Planet.
