Zombies and Cigarettes

Zombies and Cigarettes

Zombies have invaded the world’s screens. The living dead appear everywhere –the mythical Rafa “Turbo” Reaño exclaims at one point in the short: “Zombies? In Spain?”–. A shopping centre in Alcorcón is the scenario for the attempts by the young and timid Xavi to conquer the love of a woman who has stolen his heart, Carol although she doesn’t seem to notice him. But what will happen when the zombies invade the place, when they have to fight for their lives, when the close presence of death turns normal ordinary men into heroes destined to save the human race. Cinema has always taught us that celluloid is a land fertilised by heroism and also that girls like heroes. Pleasant and heart-felt homage to films by Romero, to local malls, necessary cigarettes and men that do not normally get the girl, which is doing the tour of horror festivals throughout Europe right now.
