Taxandria

Taxandria

Only feature directed by the veteran Belgian animator Raoul Servais. Moviemaker, teacher and founder of one of the first schools of its kind in Europe, Servais has dedicated over 50 years to the world of animation. Maker of shorts like Chromophobia, Pegasus, Harpya or Atraksion, in 1994 Servais directed his first full-length movie, a combination of real and animation images set in the dictatorial and oppressive world of Taxandria, where time has been abolished and only the present exists. Clocks are banned, progress has ground to a halt, and the eternal present is imposed. Gushing with imagination, unexpected and different, original and winner of awards at Brussels, Rome and Oporto, Taxandria is a rare work on the European movie scene of the 90s.
