Since time immemorial, mermaids’ singing has attracted men to their destruction. Ulysses had to be tied to the mainstay of the boat he was returning home in when he came across them (at least that’s what Homer tells us). In a military lab a scientist is monitoring an “eel girl” that they have captured, trying to find out who she is, where she comes from… He observes her from the protection of his watchtower. But sometimes his desire is hard to control… and the mermaid’s singing can get right through the thickest glass. Inspired by a song by Sancho, this is the second short –after Night of the Hell Hamsters– directed by Paul Campion, make up specialist who has worked, among many other films, on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and films such as Constantine, Eragon or 30 Days of Night.
