Who in their right mind would really think about making a film on exorcism after The Exorcist? Unfortunately, as we have seen over the decades, this has seemed like a good idea to lots of people. But this time, Eli Roth, one of the actors and producers of The Last Exorcism, swears that the likes of the film by director Daniel Stamm and scriptwriters Botko and Gurlandhas has never been seen before, and will make us tremble to the core. In fact, the party starts when the exorcism (performed by a cheating swindler) has finished and everything starts to turn ugly, really ugly, and strange things start to happen, very strange indeed. And as you all know, the Devil can be weird but he generally plays by the rules. If he’s possessing someone, he’s in there, and if he’s not, he makes it really clear that He has nothing to do with the creature. First shown at Film4 FrightFest in London, it was shot in 18 days and the special effects are by Nicotero. Hello there, master.
