Alonso would lose it in his Ferrari on the first bend of this race. Maybe Red Bull gives Vettel and Weber wings but they wouldn’t stand a chance if the driver overtaking them was called Sonosee, petrol head and synthetic oil sister of La Juani, La Novia and our latest favourite drivers Luz and Sartana from Machete. Old Schumi would choose early retirement because JP (how good does he look in that Elvis wig?) would rip all the stickers off the wing of his Mercedes and Hamilton would see his McLaren leaving the circuit on a crane if he even dared to smell the octane from the cars competing in the most dangerous, most illegal, more revered and cunning car race ever seen in which we suspect they would only accept guest drivers such as McQueen and Belmondo. Making its debut to howls and engine revving in the Piazza Grande of Locarno, defined by its director as pure pop art on celluloid and with a totally techno sound track, there’s nothing here to match the Suzuka return circuit.
